Taylor Plastic Surgery Center - Johnson, Arkansas

The building’s design consists of two major parts, the surgery suite and the clinic. A separate entry for each was required and they have been located at opposite ends of the building. These entries are connected with a central corridor, which divides the building into the two parts “Clinical” and “Surgical”.The clinical side is located on the south side of the corridor, the surgical side is located on the north side of the corridor. This expression is also conveyed into the form of the building by offsetting the roof heights over the different areas. The roofs offset each other at a two-story wall along the north side of the central corridor. This expression of the spaces in the roof form also allows for the introduction of clearstory windows that bring natural light into the waiting areas and nurses’ areas
